I recently purchased a Rega Planar 2 and was quite happy with that for now. The needle (or element) I wanted to upgrade at some point later, as long as it worked now I was in no hurry for a change right now.<\/p>\n<p>Until yesterday that is, as all of a sudden the arm floated over the LP I just put on the table. No understandable sound came from the turntable. The needle had given the ghost, so a bit unhappy and (honestly) a bit happy\u2026 I ordered the upgrade I had my eye on and it arrived today. The Ortofon 2MR Blue, the special edition for the Rega turntable. It arrived today and it was a little bit of a struggle getting the tiny cables installed as the Ortofon\u2019s pins are thinner than the previous element\u2019s, but I got them on.
